Modern Majlis

Description
Contemporary majlis seating with lower backs and cleaner lines for modern villas and apartments.
The modern range keeps the majlis layout -- seating around the walls, open floor in the middle -- but drops the ornament. Backs are lower, arms are squarer, and the upholstery is pulled tight instead of buttoned and tufted.
It suits rooms that are already contemporary: plain walls, larger windows, and a lighter palette. We usually pair it with plainer fabrics in greys, sands and off-whites rather than the heavier patterned cloth used on traditional majlis seating.
Everything is still made to your room. We measure on site, bring the fabric range with us, and build the runs so they finish cleanly at the corners.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this differ from a traditional majlis sofa?
+
Lower backs, squarer arms and tight upholstery instead of buttoning and tufting. The seating still runs around the room in the majlis layout, but the detailing is plainer.
Can I see fabric options before ordering?
+
Yes. We bring the fabric range to the measuring visit so you can choose against your own walls and light.
Does it work in an apartment rather than a villa?
+
It does. The lower profile is the reason people choose it for apartments, where a full-height traditional majlis can crowd the room.
