Description

False ceilings, bulkheads, coves and wall detailing in gypsum board.

Gypsum is how a flat ceiling becomes part of the design. Dropping a section, running a cove around the perimeter or forming a bulkhead over a seating area gives a room definition without taking a centimetre of floor space, and it is the standard way ceilings are detailed in Qatari villas and majlis.

It is also where lighting gets planned. Coves conceal indirect strips that wash the ceiling, and recessed spots need their positions set before the boards close up. We work the lighting layout out with you at the design stage rather than cutting holes afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a cove ceiling?

+

A recessed channel around the perimeter of the ceiling that hides an LED strip. The light washes upward and reflects back down, giving soft indirect illumination with no visible fitting. It is the most common gypsum detail we install.

How much ceiling height does a false ceiling take?

+

Typically 10 to 20 centimetres depending on the detail and what services run above it. We measure the existing height first, because in a room that is already low a shallower design or a partial drop is usually the better call.

Is the gypsum work painted?

+

We hand it over taped, jointed and ready to paint as standard. Painting can be included in the quote if you would like it finished as one job.
